At Yahoo he led internal marketing and employee engagement and built the company's first internal brand division during a difficult transformation, then served as Head of MOJO for the Verizon company built from it. Along the way he has worked with leaders and organizations including Nike, Univision, Caterpillar, Clif Bar, Hines, iHeartMedia, and Northwestern Mutual. A former publicist, a Certified HeartMath Trainer, and a global speaker who has worked in thirteen countries, he learned early that the moments of greatest disruption, the acquisitions, the integrations, the leadership transitions, are not business problems. They are identity problems.

The work began long before the client list. AJ is a professional singer who has sung with Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, John Legend, Mýa, and Wayne Brady, and he holds a degree in creative writing and communication. He knows what it takes to earn a room with nothing but his voice, and he knows the cost of stepping away from one dream to become who he actually is. In grade school he adopted a grandmother at a local nursing home and kept showing up for years after the other children stopped. That is where the belief began: identity is built by who you are when no one is holding you to it.

Today AJ turns that belief into method. The Imagination Method™ is the framework beneath everything he builds, a way to activate the identity of a person, a team, a brand, or an idea.
